| Scholarships must be applied for at Charlotte through the NinerScholars Portal. The university does not use an automatic process to award scholarships solely on prior academic performance (GPA, test scores, etc.). |
| Reminder of upcoming deadlines – Many scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year are now past the deadlines. You are welcome to log into NinerScholars to check for any available scholarship opportunities. All required materials, including recommendation letters, must be submitted in NinerScholars by 11:59 PM on the posted deadline date. Exceptions to scholarship deadlines are not made for any reason. |
| Notification of Scholarship Offers: Scholarship reviewers around campus begin reviewing applications after the application deadline has passed. Applications for scholarships exclusively for incoming freshmen are given priority in being reviewed. If a student is offered a scholarship, they will receive an email at their UNC Charlotte email address, and the status of the scholarship will change to say “Offered” in their scholarship portal. If they are not selected for a scholarship, they will not receive an email, but eventually the status of that application will change in their portal to say “Not Offered.” It can typically take from 30 days to up to 90 days for a scholarship application to be reviewed. |
| Admission to the Levine Scholars Program or the Honors College cannot be applied for through NinerScholars. Students interested in being considered for the Levine Scholars Program or the Honors College must submit separate applications for each. Please note that each program has its own deadline and requirements. Visit each program’s website to learn more. |

Important Dates
| Late Oct.: NinerScholars portal opens to apply for scholarships that, if awarded, will be credited to the student’s account for the 2025-26 academic year. |
| Feb. 15: Early Action deadline for a select offering of scholarships open exclusively to incoming freshmen enrolling fall 2025. |
| Apr. 1: Application deadline for freshmen and transfer students enrolling fall 2025, and continuing students. |
| April: Projected award notifications for Early Action select scholarships for fall 2025 freshmen admits |
| Jul. 30: Application deadline for reentry students. |
| May – July: Projected award notification for most other scholarships that will be credited to the student’s account for the 2025-26 academic year. |
